This Celtic hilltop settlement is the oldest city north of the Alps. In the 6th century BCE – while ancient Rome was still a small village on the Tiber river – Heuneburg was in its heyday, something reflected in the sensational archaeological finds discovered there. Today, at Heuneburg, the Celtic period is brought to life in an idyllic setting with spectacular views of the Danube.
